Ordinary Passport Holders are not eligible to apply


• Foreign Nationals, holding Diplomatic/Official/Service Passport and are already in India, can apply for visa services through this portal.


• Visa extension, Visa type conversion, New Visa and Transfer of Visa are the services provided through this Portal. These services are not available for Ordinary Passport holders.


• Passport should have minimum validity of 6 months on the date of application and should have minimum 2 blank pages.


• Recent front facing photograph (size 3.5X3.5 cms.) with clear light background.


• Cover page and photo page of the Passport containing information like Name, Date of Birth, Nationality, Expiry date etc., to be uploaded by the applicant. Details are available at Photo & Document requirement page.


• While submitting the application, the applicant is also required to upload documents as indicated against each type of service. Additional documents can be uploaded subsequently also, using the application ID.
• The applicant need not submit Passport or printed copy of the application after submitting online application.
• Passport is required to be submitted to CPV Division, Ministry of External Affairs, only on receipt of information from the CPV Division. The information shall be conveyed through e-mail and / or SMS.

• Photo upload is mandatory.
• First use the Online Application Submission option then upload photo and required documents.
• Only one copy of photo has to be uploaded.
• Photo Requirements:
  • Format - jpg
  • Size - Maximum 50 KB
  • Photo should present Full face, front view, eyes open
  • Center head within frame and present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin
  • Background should be plain light colored or white background
  • No shadows on the face or on the background
  • Bring same photo along with application form.
  • Upload Photo in passport size (3.5 x 3.5 cm or 3.5 x 4.5 cm)

  • Don't upload Tilted, Distorted and Blurred photo
    

• Only one copy of each document type has to be uploaded.
• Scanned documents should be in pdf format.
• Size of pdf document must be less than 200 Kb.

For all applicants, the following are mandatorily required to be uploaded:

• Photo: Applicant's photo (as per instruction on Photo requirement page).
• Passport: Cover page and photo page of the Passport containing information like Name, Date of Birth, Nationality, Expiry date etc.
• Visa : Visa page on the existing Indian visa
  • In case of dependents, the visa page of the assignee has to be uploaded.
  • In case the person entered without an Indian visa, the page carrying Immigration stamp has to be uploaded
• Note verbale/Letter of request: Copy of the Note Verbale to be uploaded with each application

If Applicant is assignee :

• If Applied For Protocol ID issued by GOI:Copy of the request to be uploaded.
• If Holding Protocol ID issued by GOI: Copy of Protocol ID to be uploaded.
• If Does not require Protocol ID: Copy of International organization ID to be uploaded.

If Applicant is dependent :

• Assignee visa page to be uploaded.
• If Applied For Protocol ID issued by GOI: Copy of the request to be uploaded.
• If Holding Protocol ID issued by GOI: Copy of Protocol ID to be uploaded.
• If Does not require Protocol ID: Copy of International organization ID to be uploaded.

Important Technical Information for Online Visa application

• This site is best viewed in Mozilla Firefox,Google Chrome,Internet Explorer (Windows) version 9.0 and above.
• The applicant must also have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7.0 or higher installed on your PC in order to download and print the completed application form.
